The Biggest Professional Band Competition “Bandcubator” Is Back With Its 2nd Edition!

After an epic first edition in 2016, The High Spirit’s professional battle of bands, The Bandcubator, returns to Pune’s venerate concert venue.

The Bandcubator makes a great return after Mumbai-based alt-rockers, Unoho, walked home winning the eminent battle of bands in March last year. The High, in their search for the musical talents and charisma that will become the new wave of the independent music scene, will host 20 bands starting on the 26th of February. In their effort to host the countries biggest band competition to support upcoming indie music talents, the organizers have partnered with Indian beer brewer’s, Kingfisher, Brisky, Cotton Press Studios (Mumbai), Rolling Stone India and artist management agency, Mixtape.

The 20 shortlisted bands bidding to emerge as the next musical idols of Pune’s final Battle of Bands, will battle it out over 4 preliminary rounds starting on the 26th of February. Afterward, a panel of carefully selected judges representing key players in the industry will choose 4 bands to face off in a winner takes it all finals on the 2nd of April. Indus Creed frontman, Uday Benegal, Last Remaining Light and Goddess Gagged vocalist, Siddharth Basrur, Pitch Black Symphony keyboardist and sound engineer, Johnston D’souza, Strangebrew/Gary Lawyer guitarist player Christopher Fonseca, New York based renowned blues guitarist, Rahul Chatterjee, ex-Agnee drummer, Varun Venkit and lead guitarist, Koco will judge to completion across the 4 elimination rounds and the one-off finals at The High.

The Bandcubator’s second edition comes with the opportunity to take home a prize money worth 1.5 lakhs, an EP recording deal with Cotton Press Studio, Mumbai, a 4 city national tour with Mixtape, video-screening slot on 9XO’s Indie segment, ‘Homegrown’ and an additional Rs. 10,000 prize money to the band that wins the Brisky’s Popular Choice award via a voting mechanism on Brisky’s app.

Tickets are priced at Rs.150 available at the gates on the day of the competition, making the second edition a pleasing yet affordable experience.
