I bet half of those who have clicked on this article, have once in their lifetime visited Youtube-mp3.org to download audio from their latest album or some video they liked on Youtube illegally?

Well, the audio ripping websites might soon be a thing of the past. All the leading record label across the globe are joining forces to take down the free audio ripping website Youtube-mp3.org.

Copyrights suits were filed by the Universal, Warner Bros, Sony and other big record labels stating:

“Stream ripping has become a major threat to the music industry, functioning as an unlawful substitute for the purchase of recorded music and the acquisition of subscriptions to authorized streaming services.”

YouTube-mp3.org was being hosted by a fellow German name Phillip Matesanz who is chief offender accounting for 40% of all unlawful dreams stream ripping that takes place in the world.

For those who have never used YTMP3, it requires a very simple process to download a song’s mp3 file. The plaintiffs claim “tens, or even hundreds, of millions of tracks, are illegally copied and distributed by stream ripping services each month.” As expected, they pretty do it all.

Billboard stated :

“Straight copyright infringement claim as well as claims for contributory copyright infringement, vicarious copyright infringement, and inducement of copyright infringement. The complaint speaks of how Matesanz’ company has been promoting its service.”
